Your companion guides you through the rocky wooded wilderness of the mountainside. The journey is difficult, and you are pretty sure that you have passed the same points multiple times. Given what happened to his last home, you do not blame him for being precautious, however it does make you a little sad that his trust in you has been shaken. After what feels like an unreasonable amount of time, you spot a flash of colour in the distance. Wooden boards painted in garish colours stand out against the flat grey mountainside. You have been abandoned, or more specifically, Nobel has disappeared. After the first couple of weeks, you assumed that once again, he had simply forgotten about you, or perhaps his business kept him busy. But as the months rolled on, you started to suspect that you had been left out to dry. Was it something that you had done? You kept his secret. You have determined that he is not dead, which is quite the relief, and that he has been removed from the place in which you reside. The reason for this, though, seems extremely unclear. There are indications that it may have been for some description of punishment. Though no one seems to be able to clarify what the crime was, and as the days draw on, your patience with the situation grows thin. After many days pass with no sign of your quarry, you crave a bath and a proper bed. Packing your things, you invite the stranger to accompany you back to the city. The look that crosses his face is one of excited wonder, whilst also conveying an underlying suspicion, and for a moment, you suspect fear. However, he agrees. On the way down the mountain, you are surprised at how much the stranger struggles in the wilderness. This man has been hunting and feeding you for a week now, and yet he behaves like a city noble. You ran from the beast and climbed a tree as high as you could, just as instructed. With such a short head start, you were sure that this was the end for you. As the sun sets, you hear the howls cascade through the night. As expected, the creature found you. For the first time, you see it. This ravenous wolf-like creature, taller than any man. Lithe yet muscular. Snarling and Hungry. It leaps up at the tree, with inhuman agility. But then it pauses. Sniffs up at you as you desperately try to climb higher. Sniffs the air. Then leaps from the tree and into the dense woodland. Days pass. Each night, you hear the howls. Each night you climb as high as you are able. Until one night, you look down to see the creature pawing around the base of the tree. Sniffing at it. It looks up and sees you, but its disposition is calm and gentle, nothing like the wild animal you saw the night before. Life in the village is beginning to feel overbearing. It feels like all the locals are watching your every step. Keeping you at a distance and yet are not allowing you to do anything alone. You are not sure if they knew of your meeting with the creature by the old tree, or if they are just being overprotective, but your frustration is becoming evident. More than once has it boiled over and lead to sharp words. You need to escape, even if only for a few hours. Just get away from the prison the village has become. You explain this to your parents, and they agree to let you go hunting with the next hunting party. The frustration builds. It has been a month since your resurrection, and you grow tired of the excuses of your followers. You wish to see this world. You have been absent for generations. So much must have changed, and you have a lot to learn and catch up on. Finally, you lose your temper. You demand your release. The cultists are apprehensive. Some with fear of something happening to you before you are at full strength. Others, you suspect, have far more selfish motives. You are escorted to a thing that they call an "Elevator" which reminds you of some of the lifting technology that the slaves used constructing the temples. The device pulls you up from the depths of the earth. The smell of smoke, moisture in the air, and unreasonable amounts of loud and abrasive noise greet you as the "elevator" comes to a halt.
